PHASES OF DEVELOPMENT

There are 6 phases in launching a cooperative enterprise. Each phase has several steps and the individuals involved may vary in the expertise they provide and when that expertise is needed. Some of the steps in one phase may overlap another phase. Regardless, all the steps need to be completed in order that the organization is successful.

3. Develop trust among potential members
4. Secure member commitment
5. Involve other stakeholders
6. Start the cooperative
